About Us

Huntington Beach Adult School promotes lifelong learning by providing 21st century educational programs, and preparing students for success in postsecondary education, the workforce, and the community. We have locations in Huntington Beach, Westminster and Costa Mesa.

Courses include but are not limited to English as a Second Language (ESL), High School Diploma (ASE), General Education Development (GED), Career Technical Education (CTE), Community Education and Personal Enrichment.

HBAS serves over 7,000 students each year. Most students are from Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Westminster, Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, but we also enroll students from neighboring communities such as Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, Santa Ana and Garden Grove.

HBAS students represent many socio-economic groups and academic abilities. Many of them have jobs and families to care for. They vary in age from 18 – 90+ years, and they have a wide variety of end goals to achieve. One thing our students have in common: they are motivated and determined to take responsibility for their own education.
